While filmmakers of the big ticket films make the audience wait to reveal the first look and teasers of their upcoming movies, director Gautham Menon is adopting a different approach. Just a few days into the shooting of his ambitious film, Dhruva Natchathiram, the director has ramped up the expectations around the film with its first look posters and a more than 2-minute promo video, giving a sneak peek at the leading man’s new mission. Vikram plays Dhruv, a spy on a covert mission. However, his rivals learn about his whereabouts and kidnap his handler called Mr K to draw Dhruva out in open. Gautham said he had been waiting to work with Vikram for a long time while thanking the actor for the opportunity. “Thank you for the opportunity. Been waiting from my first film. Looking forward to this now with you Vikram sir!,” he tweeted while releasing the trailer on his Twitter handle. Dhruva Natchathiram is a dream project of Gautham and was announced with Suriya in the lead role a few years back. However, it was shelved due to the difference of opinion between the actor-director duo. Towards the end of the last year, Gautham revived the project with Vikram. Vikram’s look, the tone and texture of the film are quite intriguing. What is most attractive about Vikram’s role is, regardless of the fact he is a top Indian spy, who assists the CIA in investigations, when he threatens his rival he uses the Chennai slang. And that adds more layers to his already uber cool character. Actor Anu Emmanuel has been roped in to play the female lead. She was last seen in Telugu actor Nani’s last year’s hit film Majnu. Dhruva Natchathiram will have music from Harris Jayraj and is bankrolled by Gautham’s’s home production Ondraga Entertainment. The film will hit the screens in August this year.
The consummate actor Vikram has battled a struggling screenplay and mixed reviews to lift ‘Iru Mugan’ to a safety zone. The box office collections so far is making the right noises which could get even better as the next weekend poses no challenges at all. For the first time in his career, Vikram has reportedly changed his approach and has signed a film to be directed by relative newcomer Socrates, whose previous film ‘Bramman’starring the likes of Sasikumar and Santhanam was widely panned by critics and was an absolute dud at the box office. One thing is for sure that the story that Socrates has narrated to Chiyaan must be simply out of this world for him to have committed to it. The as yet untitled film produced by Silverline Film Factory is expected to begin shooting soon with Kajal Agarwal most probably playing the female lead.
The film also stars Samantha and Amy Jackson. Dhanush has had a great year as an actor as well as a producer. While his productions Kaaka Muttai and Visaranai have achieved global recognition thanks to their critical acclaim as various film festivals, his films Anegan and Maari have turned out to be super hit at box office. Now the lanky actor is planning to strike hattrick of hits at box office. Directed of Velraj of VIP fame, the film was initially called as VIP 2 but has now been rechristened as Thangamagan. Starring Dhanush, Samantha and Amy Jackson in lead roles, the first look of the film was recently unveiled this month. While earlier rumours claimed that Thangamagan aka VIP 2 is eyeing for Diwali release, actor Dhanush has just disclosed the release date. Dhanush’s Thangamagan is now targeting to cash in Christmas fervour as he revealed that the film will release on December 18. This means Ajith’s Vedalam and Kamal Haasan’s Thoongaavanam are the only two big releases that are expected to clash this Diwali. The music of Thangamagan has been composed by Anirudh. who would be looking to redeem himself after dishing out lackluster music for Ajith’s Vedalam. Since Dhanush-Anirudh combo has delivered hits every single time, fans are expecting great things from music of Thangamagan. With just two months for release, we expect the trailer and music of the film to be out this Diwali.
Aravind samy interview about Thani Oruvan: arvind swamy interview: He is often thought of as a reluctant actor. And you can see why. Actors — today, stars — who debuted around the same time as he did, have gone on to do almost thrice as many films as he’s done. When I point out that he’s acted in just 20 films, he seems a bit surprised. “Wow, 20 films, really?” Considering that 25 per cent of his films have been with Mani Ratnam, a director not exactly known for making ‘commercial’ films, his decision to play villain in Thani Oruvan is rather surprising. Director M. Raja, after all, is at the other end of the spectrum.
It’s buzzed that the crew of project Thala-56 are working hard to release their project for Diwali. The first half of the movie is already canned. Meanwhile sources close to the crew reveal that the second schedule has some heavy duty action scenes whilst the action scenes in first schedule have also come out pretty well. New Addition The actors get casted as the shooting proceeds and few might get in even during the last leg of shooting. It happened with Atul Kulkarni who played baddie in Veeram. Similarly, with the major portion of Thala 56 being completed, Bollywood’s most prominent actor Rahul Dev has been signed to play an important role. The film already features Kabir as baddie and we will have to wait and watch who is playing what. Shruti Haasan plays the female lead while Lakshmi Menon will be seen in a pivotal role. Most of the scenes from the first schedule have been shot in and around Milan and Kolkatta. The editing and post-production is going on quick for the first schedule whilst the next schedule is buzzed to be happening around next week. Meanwhile, Anirudh is close on the heels of completing the song recording and very soon official announcement on teaser, audio and trailer will be made. Looks like the team is progressing at a pretty quick pace.
